Action on Film Festival Wrap Up

Several of my films are making their world premiere at the popular Action on Film (AOF) Festival, which is going on until September 27th in scenic Monrovia at the Krikorian Theatres. These films are Strangers In A Book, Seeking Valentina, and Natural Born Filmmakers. This festival was created by Del Weston, who is also a filmmaker, so he really supports indie filmmakers in our community. And I really feel the sense of community at this festival. Strangers In A Book Cast and Crew Screening

Last night was the cast and crew screening of Strangers In A Book at a private residence in Encino.   Strangers in a Book was written by Pedram Navab and directed by Marc Rezvani. Seeking Valentina Cast and Crew Screening

Last night was the cast and crew party for Seeking Valentina, a short film that I was honored to play a nice supporting role in, at Lyfe Kitchen in West Hollywood. What I loved about working on this project is that it bucks stereotypes of Iranian-Americans. This gripping psychological thriller was directed by Armin Nasseri and it revolves around an Iranian-American writer, Benjamin (Ali Bavarian), in the pangs of grief, who takes in a mysterious tenant named Valentina (Kristin West). When she mysteriously disappears, it is for the audience to decide if she a ghost, a hallucination, a dream or a […]

All Made Up for Modern Family

As fate would have it, I recently had the good fortune of having a brief, impromptu visit on the FOX lot for an on-set visit to Modern Family, of one of my favorite shows. It wasn’t just a day on the sound stage though…I got to go on location at a quintessential location that is so LA…a shopping mall. Namely, the Century City Mall. I had a blast watching the behind the scenes action of this iconic hit show and learned a lot about makeup from Stephanie Massie, the show’s talented makeup department head. This visit was courtesy of my friend […]
