Jeanie Madsen at Minnie T’s

I went to visit a friend earlier, the amazing Jeanie Madsen, at Minnie T’s, a super swank and hip boutique in Santa Monica, where her designs are sold. Jeanie is very excited to have her clothes featured at this exclusive boutique, which is owned by Barbara Phillips. “Barbara is a trailblazer. She opened the first boutique of this kind on Abbot Kinney 13 years ago. I’m really excited to feature my line here,” said Jeanie. What I like about Jeanie’s line is that she utilizes natural fabrics like gauze and linen and her designs are oh so flowy and cool. […]

Witty and talented radio host Cameron Datzker will be celebrating the 6 year anniversary of his popular talk show Sports and Life tonight at 8pm PST. I’ll be ringing in this special episode with him as I am currently his guest co-host. Other guests are prominent entertainment attorney Nadia Davari, Guy Towe and Tracy Lynn Cowan. My castmates from the much buzzed about short film, Seeking Valentina, actress Kristin West, actor Srinivasa Kapavarapu and director Armin Nasseri, will also be in the studio this evening. Cameron received his journalism degree at California State University, Northridge, which was where he wrote […]

Paul Sorvino’s Art Opening

On April 30th, I had the distinct pleaure of attending the opening exhibition of renowned film star Paul Sorvino’s private collectors show of his amazing sculptures at his art studio in Santa Monica. This was also the 25th anniversary of the iconic film Goodfellas, which he starred in and it was the first time he showed his art work publically. I must say that all the work that I saw was museum quality and I really liked all the sketches he drew as well. I loved all the artwork especially “I am here” and “the Lovers.” Celebrities and VIPS in […]

Sue Wong Soirée Sweetens Hollywood

Renowned fashion designer Sue Wong recently hosted a very exclusive and upscale launch party for her new perfume and ecommerce store in the heart of Hollywood at the popular Hollywood and Highland complex. This was a very small and intimate party, so I was honored to receive an invite. The location was a separate part of the Sweet store where Art Hearts Fashion (AHF) has their lineup of exclusive designers, who have held fashion shows via AHF’s Parker Whitaker Productions.   I was really impressed that they had such a large retail space and was delighted to have a bird’s […]

Style Fashion Week Opening Night Reception

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again. Veronica Kerzner is a force. Born in the OC and currently living in NYC, she created Style Fashion Week in 2011. This event is the largest and one of the most prestigious fashion events of the season. This creative businesswoman brings her warm Southern California exuberant spirit and her East Coast fashion sense and know how to this wonderful event, truly making it the industry standout that it is in a city not known for its fashion sense. I managed to catch up with Veronica at the SFW opening night party she […]

Fire and Ice at the Vida Emanuel Day Spa and Beauty Lounge

The Fire and Ice event at Vida Emanuel’s high-end day spa and beauty lounge heated and cooled swanky Beverly Hills at the same time. This event had two new non-invasive procedures to reduce fat and tighten skin on the face, neck and body, so this roving reporter had to check it out! The Venus Legacy heats the fat off, while the CoolScupting Machine freezes the fat off, hence the title of this event and article. The Venus Legacy is a machine made by Venus Concept that utilizes radio frequency and magnetic energy to tighten the skin and reduce cellulite. Their […]

LA Fashion Week in Review

I really enjoyed the shows during LA Fashion Week that Art Hearts Fashion (AHF) put together in conjunction with Erin and Sarah Whitaker of Parker Whitaker Productions. I’ve covered so many shows in such a short period of time this season at LA Fashion Week that my head is still spinning. But, I will say there were many standouts and great designs. In addition to a legendary, iconic designer like Sue Wong, who opened fashion week at AHF, there were all sorts of avant-garde designers with striking designs. I love AHF’s very own Erik Rosete’s high-end street-wear line Mister Triple X. […]

All Made Up for Modern Family

As fate would have it, I recently had the good fortune of having a brief, impromptu visit on the FOX lot for an on-set visit to Modern Family, of one of my favorite shows. It wasn’t just a day on the sound stage though…I got to go on location at a quintessential location that is so LA…a shopping mall. Namely, the Century City Mall. I had a blast watching the behind the scenes action of this iconic hit show and learned a lot about makeup from Stephanie Massie, the show’s talented makeup department head. This visit was courtesy of my friend […]

Sue Wong’s Spring Show is a Mythical Journey

Iconic and award-winning fashion designer Sue Wong opened up Art Hearts Fashion LA Fashion Week with her breathtaking MYTHOS & GODDESSES Fall 2015 Collection. Sue’s mantra is Beauty Magic Transformation and this phenomenal show was definitely all that and more. This sold out, star- studded show was standing room only and definitely the hottest ticket in town. While it was by far the most crowded and packed fashion show this roving reporter ever attended in recent memory, I was so impressed that Los Angeles (and So Cal in general) a city known for it’s “fashion” template of blue jeans and […]

So Very Vida is So Very Live!

Hello dear readers! This is my first post and I could not be more excited to finally get this blog going! This site has been in the works for quite some time, however, with my recent foray into journalism, voiceover gigs and acting in three short films, one of which I have produced, I have been pretty busy for the past couple of months.  In the midst of all of this, I managed to cover Sue Wong’s amazing fashion show, which I will chronicle in my next blog post. This show was organized by Arr Hearts Fashion and Parker Whitaker […]
