Ziba’s Jewelry Sparkly Grand Opening

I had the pleasure of attending the grand opening of my good friend Ziba Sabeti’s self-titled jewelry store, Ziba Jewelry, in super swanky Brentwood Village. I loved the airy space adorned with her gorgeous and sparkly designs and serene Buddhas. It’s a beautiful store and Ziba has such a great eye for design and all that glitters that it’s truly a feast for the eyes. Ziba is a Persian word and it means beautiful in Farsi, which is apropos for lovely Ziba and her eye catching jewelry pieces.

On Saturday, August 15, the third annual Los Angeles Nollywood Film Awards (LANFA) took place at the LAX 4 Points Sheraton Hotel. The purpose of this yearly awards ceremony is to recognize the leading worldwide contributors to the African film industry that are working towards growing and developing that industry. King Bassey is the founder of LANFA and he does a great job of bringing the community together, which is quite a feat as it’s an international group. I had the honor of being the presenter for noted fashion designer and friend Eugene Sidney.  “I was truly honored to be bestowed an […]

Lovesick Fool Screens at the Hollyshorts Film Fest

I was so thrilled to have Lovesick Fool screen as a part of the Hollyshorts Film Festival at the Chinese Theatre in Hollywood! What a pinch me I’m dreaming moment! This film was my voiceover animation feature film debut and  stars a talented ensemble of comedic geniuses like Lisa Kudrow, Janeane Garofalo, and Fred Willard. Dominic Polcino, an Emmy-nominated director of “The Simpsons”, “King of the Hill”, and “Family Guy”, directed, wrote, and voiced the lead role. The film is Polcino’s Mezmo Productions’ first feature. It’s an original adult animated vision, expanding on Polcino’s award-winning short film “Lovesick Fool”, about a […]

Youngblood Doing Good

I love, love, love Youngblood products! I purchased some products years ago at a charity event in Hollywood at the Supper Club and still have loyalty to what I’ve used in the line. What I loved about my intro to this great line was that the proceeds from the package that I bought were donated to the Dr. Susan Love Research Foundation for breast cancer research. Pauline Youngblood is the founder and CEO of this wonderful cruelty and paraben-free line and is a breast cancer survivor herself and supports many cancer related causes. In addition to all of this amazingness, […]

TV Showrunner Rob Roy Thomas Guests on LA Talk Radio

Earlier tonight we had the pleasure of having acclaimed TV showrunner Rob Roy Thomas on my witty friend Cameron Datzker’s popular show on LA Talk Radio that I currently guest co-host. Rob is a prominent TV show runner who created Significant Others, the first fully improvised show on American Television as well as others. He is the creator of the “Soft-Scripted” method, which has become very popular and often used in the TV landscape. I had met Rob years ago, when I auditioned for his much buzzed about pilot D.C. at CBS Radford and was struck by how much he took […]

Seeking Valentina Cast and Crew Screening

Last night was the cast and crew party for Seeking Valentina, a short film that I was honored to play a nice supporting role in, at Lyfe Kitchen in West Hollywood. What I loved about working on this project is that it bucks stereotypes of Iranian-Americans. This gripping psychological thriller was directed by Armin Nasseri and it revolves around an Iranian-American writer, Benjamin (Ali Bavarian), in the pangs of grief, who takes in a mysterious tenant named Valentina (Kristin West). When she mysteriously disappears, it is for the audience to decide if she a ghost, a hallucination, a dream or a […]

The Whimsical World of Celebrity Photographer Clinton H. Wallace

One of the first media people I was blessed with having the pleasure of meeting in LA eons ago was the one and only Clinton H. Wallace. If memory serves me correctly, we met at The West of Brooklyn premiere. He is a trusted friend and colleague and has been like a big brother to me. Clinton is of Cuban and German ancestry on his mother’s side and Jamaican and Scottish ancestry on his father’s side, but for some reason, the Cuban and Jamaican sides stand out the most to me personality-wise, so I affectionally refer to him at the “Cubaican” […]

Mission Save Her Charity Dinner

I had the pleasure of attending the Mission Save Her Charity Dinner hosted by Booywood star Reggie Benjamin and beautiful supermodel and actress Iwona Burnat (The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills and The Real Housewives of Poland) at their beautiful estate in Calabasas. Reggie is one of the founders of this noteworthy charity and is very passionate about raising awareness to educate the international community about human trafficking, while also saving women and girls all over the world from these evils. All over the world thousands of helpless women do not have a voice and are silenced by the horrors which […]
