My Favorite Oscar Looks

There were not a lot of favorite standouts for me this Oscar season, as I liked the looks at the after parties more. Here’s what I did like… When I saw the gown, I thought of the song “Blue Velvet.” Taraji looked elegant and sexy at once. Not many can pull that off. Oscar winner Stone with her flapper inspired gold, Swarovski crystal-embroidered gown, gave a real nod to vintage Hollywood with her Veronica Lake type curls and red lipstick. Very fitting considering her winning performance was from the modern day classic La La Land!

Golden Globes Gleaming

I know yellow is the trend this season, but I was blown away by these looks:   Stone ( or her stylist!) always makes great choices. I loved her beaded top and pants with a sash at the last Golden Globes. I’ve worn gowns that have various lengths and it’s really hard to pull off. Monae does this effortlessly! I normally think polka dots, tulle and sequins (!) are too busy, but she really slays in this gown! I normally wouldn’t go for a statement so bold, but Wood looks stunning and I’m a big Dietrich and Bowie fan, so […]

Sue Wong’s Epic Fashion Show at the Avant Garde Masquerade Ball

I had a blast at internationally renowned designer Sue Wong’s EPIC fashion show at the Avant Garde Masquerade Ball. This phenomenal event was held at the Majestic downtown, which was an apropos location as it dates back to 1921 as the original LA headquarters of Bank of America, which is an era that Sue’s designs often harken to!  Many of the vintage design features of this location are similar to The Cedars, Sue historic estate. This enchanted evening was the second annual Masquerade Ball for Michelle Long’s Avant Garde Magazine. Her runway included celebrity guest models Eugenia Kuzmina and Ava […]
