Sai Suman’s Sizzling Designs

Sai Suman is a talented fashion designer with a chic eye for detail who blends the western culture with traditional choices to craft the best in clothing. She has designed gowns for many celebrities and is a red carpet staple especially during awards season.   In 1995 when she was conferred with the title of Miss Thane (Jr.), her aspiration towards fashion took off, having done a ramp show for Alyque Padamsee added another dimension to her persona. Hailing from a family of educationists, she traveled a path less trodden in the field of fashion technology. She got chiseled […]

So Very Vida interviewed by Amber Lynn on Rock N’ SeXXXy Show

I had the pleasure of being interviewed by the stunning Amber Lynn on her popular Rock N’ SeXXXy show on LA Talk Radio alongside cool guests like Playboy Playmate, actress and comedienne Julie McCullough and Rock and Roll Hall of Famer Ricky Byrd. As it turns out, Amber is acting in a film called Who’s Jenna with Ronnie Marmo, a friend of mine. We will also be acting together in multi award-winning filmmaker Thomas J. Churchill’s much buzzed about film, Blood & Iron. I am always astounded by how small our community is. I learned a lot of beauty tips […]

Sue Wong’s Epic Birthday Party and Fashion Installation

Internationally renowned fashion designer Sue Wong hosted a star-studded Birthday celebration and fashion installation extravaganza announcing D.N.A.M. Apparel Industries LLC as the new Licensee of the SUE WONG Evening Collection. The exclusive celebration, themed “From MAO TO NOW”, honored the designer’s origins from a remote humble village in Maoist China, journeying to America as a young child and transforming herself into the Empress of Fashion. Sue’s story is so inspiring and I so admire her for all her achievements.  Being the quintessential Phoenix, she now finds herself poised on a threshold she calls her Third Phoenix Rising. The next most […]

Artistic Housewarming at Sue Wong’s Arthaus Estate

Had a nice time at noted fashion designer Sue Wong’s housewarming party at her scenic Arthaus estate in Malibu. Sue is an avid art collector and a huge portion of her extensive modern art collection is housed at all three of her properties;  each which embodies a different aspect of her Body, Mind, and Spirit approach to life and lifestyle. Her home in Malibu is the embodiment of “Mind”, the ever-conceptual, infinite collective imaginative pool which inspires, fuels and houses her creative essence. Sue was excited and happy to finally share her newly-renovated and furnished Malibu home which she calls Arthaus since it houses […]

Stars and Sparkles at the Quynh Paris Fashion Show

Noted international fashion designer Quynh Paris unveiled her Fall/Winter 2016-2017 show, aptly titled “The Light of the Stars” as a part of Style Fashion Week at the Pacific Design Center (PDC).  Quynh is a noted international designer in the true sense of the word and I love how she has a great fusion of East meets West. I also loved how the setting of PDC, or “Blue Whale” as it’s referred to, fit the occasion perfectly. The runway for the PDC shows was surrounded by water, which fit in with Quynh’s theme of the galaxy and there was no tent […]

Best Dressed At the Oscars

While I’m no Richard Blackwell, I’ve done my fair share of fashion journalism over the years, so I can only hope to know a thing or two about couture. I must say that there were some amazing gowns this year at the Academy Awards, but I was really feeling the blue and green toned gowns worn by  two time Oscar nominee (The Impossible, 21 Grams) Naomi Watts, and this year’s nominees Saoirse Ronan (Brooklyn) and Cate Blanchett (Carol). I love the sapphire blue and purple embellishments on the Armani Prive gown she wore and how she went all out with […]
