Meeting of the Arts and Minds at the Brain Mapping Foundation Gala

Had an intellectual yet artsy time at the Brain Mapping Foundation Gala. Was very inspired by all the brilliant minds, politicians, athletes and artists all in one place. It truly was a meeting of the minds. Hearing the doctors’ stories and experiences as well as the moving speech given by Travis Roy made for a truly inspiring event. The Society for Brain Mapping and Therapeutics (“SBMT”), Brain Mapping Foundation (“BMF”), and the National Center for NanoBioElectonics (“NCNBE”) held their 14th Annual World Brain Mapping and Therapeutics Conference at the Millennium Biltmore Hotel in downtown Los Angeles. Golden Globes Gleaming

I know yellow is the trend this season, but I was blown away by these looks:   Stone ( or her stylist!) always makes great choices. I loved her beaded top and pants with a sash at the last Golden Globes. I’ve worn gowns that have various lengths and it’s really hard to pull off. Monae does this effortlessly! I normally think polka dots, tulle and sequins (!) are too busy, but she really slays in this gown! I normally wouldn’t go for a statement so bold, but Wood looks stunning and I’m a big Dietrich and Bowie fan, so […]

Ladies Kicking Butt at the Lady Filmmakers Film Festival

Had an amazing time at the first night of the Lady Filmmakers Film Festival at the Wilshire Screening Room, where the film that I acted in and co-produced is an official selection of the festival. I was honored to have my film screen in the “ladies kick butt” block of films. Kudos to Patricia DiSalvo Viayra, the CEO and Co-Founder of the festival and her husband Mike Viayra, her Co-Founder and Festival Director. Lady Filmmakers Festival is under the umbrella of the newly formed Lady Filmmakers Foundation, a 501c3 tax exempt charity. Lady Filmmakers Festival is in its 8th year and […]

Sai Suman’s Sizzling Designs

Sai Suman is a talented fashion designer with a chic eye for detail who blends the western culture with traditional choices to craft the best in clothing. She has designed gowns for many celebrities and is a red carpet staple especially during awards season.   In 1995 when she was conferred with the title of Miss Thane (Jr.), her aspiration towards fashion took off, having done a ramp show for Alyque Padamsee added another dimension to her persona. Hailing from a family of educationists, she traveled a path less trodden in the field of fashion technology. She got chiseled […]

Best Dressed At the Oscars

While I’m no Richard Blackwell, I’ve done my fair share of fashion journalism over the years, so I can only hope to know a thing or two about couture. I must say that there were some amazing gowns this year at the Academy Awards, but I was really feeling the blue and green toned gowns worn by  two time Oscar nominee (The Impossible, 21 Grams) Naomi Watts, and this year’s nominees Saoirse Ronan (Brooklyn) and Cate Blanchett (Carol). I love the sapphire blue and purple embellishments on the Armani Prive gown she wore and how she went all out with […]
