Had a great time hosting the grand finale of the Quarterly Wrap Festival at the Mayme A. Clayton Museum and Library. Such amazing talent and I was truly honored to have been handpicked by the fabulously talented actor and late night hopeful Motown Maurice to host this momentous occasion.
Kudos to the fabulous judges, talented actors Jeff Meacham and Eric Paul Erickson as well as noted writer-director Jonathan Cocco for their excellent feedback. Finalists for the grand finale were Glasme, Deborah Ishida, Lorinda Hawkins Smith, and Wanda Ray Willis-Raynor, who was the winner. She gave an outstanding performance as the iconic Dorothy Dandridge. What I really liked about the festival was that all the contestants were women, who are so underrepresented in the arts and media. Prizes for the festival were one of the following: a meeting with Motown’s representation, a free one hour skype session with actress and coach Jessica Lynn Johnson on how to put together a solo show as well or a free headshot session with photographer Kevin Boot. So Very Vida also gifted Wanda with luxurious skincare products from Peter Lamas, European Space Source, and Sky Essentials as well as makeup from Peeks Cosmetics and Elf Cosmetics valued at over $200.
