Sue Wong’s Epic Fashion Show at the Avant Garde Masquerade Ball

I had a blast at internationally renowned designer Sue Wong’s EPIC fashion show at the Avant Garde Masquerade Ball. This phenomenal event was held at the Majestic downtown, which was an apropos location as it dates back to 1921 as the original LA headquarters of Bank of America, which is an era that Sue’s designs often harken to!  Many of the vintage design features of this location are similar to The Cedars, Sue historic estate. This enchanted evening was the second annual Masquerade Ball for Michelle Long’s Avant Garde Magazine.

Her runway included celebrity guest models Eugenia Kuzmina and Ava Capra of America’s Next Top Model, who electrified the audience, along with 18 models–articulating the message of elegance, allure, timeless glamour and feminine beauty. The mystique of The Goddess is a mythological aspect synonymous to the SUE WONG signature and boy did Sue and her team deliver! This show was the most edgy and sexy show she’s ever had. I loved the f seductive styles of the gowns  paired with the funky, edgy accessories! Vavoom!

Beautiful Headdresses by Maritzia Regalado for Atzi Designs; fashion constructions and accessories by Michelle Thomas for Aunt Funky’s Closet informed the SUE WONG runway with an artful edginess. The Vintage to Modern exquisite statement jewelry of PK BIJOUX completed the fabulous SUE WONG look. Sue took her signature bead-work, embroidery and hand-wrought couture techniques to unprecedented heights, unveiling an astonishing fashion canvas weaving Classic-romanticism juxtaposed with Avant-Garde edginess into riveting beauty. SUE WONG is truly the embodiment of Fashion, celebrating every woman – from exhilarating cutting edge to classic romantic elegance. The gowns were from Sue’s enviable private collection of gowns, which I loved, as it shows how timeless her designs truly are. D’ Jesus Trujillo and Joaquin Flores who are high level stylists helped accessorize and style the show in perfect, edgy harmony with her amazing line.

Sue wore an amazing black organza opera coat and beautiful gown with a fantastic jeweled headdress with amazing feathers very reminiscent of the Malevolent character, but much friendlier and kinder than the one in the movies, but just as glam and dramatic!

It was great catching up with VIP guests like Alexandrina Doheny, Jo Hilton, Dr. Mac Moretz, Faith Boutin, Murray Rosen, Dr. Mara Chindris, Larry Namer, Christy McGinity Gible, Plastic Martyr and many others. Way to go to Sue’s amazing team as well as Michelle Long. I tip my hat to all of you!
