Best Dressed At the Oscars

While I’m no Richard Blackwell, I’ve done my fair share of fashion journalism over the years, so I can only hope to know a thing or two about couture. I must say that there were some amazing gowns this year at the Academy Awards, but I was really feeling the blue and green toned gowns worn by  two time Oscar nominee (The Impossible, 21 Grams) Naomi Watts, and this year’s nominees Saoirse Ronan (Brooklyn) and Cate Blanchett (Carol).

I love the sapphire blue and purple embellishments on the Armani Prive gown she wore and how she went all out with the blingy necklace (it is THE OSCARS after all folks). I really liked mermaid-like ridges are exquisite on the gown.

I love the fun and flirty style of nominee Ronan’s bespoke Calvin Klein gown. It’s a true nod to her heritage as she is wearing green like she did when she was first at the Oscars for Atonement. Irish eyes are indeed smiling!

I loved Blanchette’s exquisite sea foam green mermaid style gown with its exquisite feathers and beadwork. She looks like she is gliding on the carpet. Love these looks ladies. So if I picked Armani Prive two out of three times, I think they are the big winner this year. Hope you all make my list next year!
