At a party a few months ago that legendary fashion designer Sue Wong held at her historic hillside estate, the Cedars, I had the immense pleasure of meeting Maryam Morrison, the lively and personable founder and illustrator of the wonderful “The Eden Magazine.” This popular magazine is a free online magazine that focuses on spreading compassion to all sentient beings living in a healing and peaceful world.
I felt an immediate bond with Maryam and though it’s been a short while, I feel like we’ve become good friends. We are of the same ethnicity and are in the media, so we have much in common. One of my favorite things about this amazing lady is her wonderful outlook on life and her amazing joie de vivre. When I found out that we are distantly related through marriage, I got even more excited, but wasn’t surprised as I really felt something there…she was like a relative to me.
Like my mom who is quite instinctive, Maryam is a Scorpio and highly intuitive. When I recently expressed my concerns about this industry and the media (which I try to keep to a minimum), Maryam assured me and says that “it will all unfold at precisely the moment it’s meant to.” And wouldn’t you know it, she’s right every time. She has an ethereal spirit and whimsical way about her that is truly delightful and rarely seen.
Maryam is truly a visionary in both self-transformation and in the future of animal rights.
As a devoted animal activist involved in countless rescue missions for most of her life, in an effort to end suffering and to enhance every living creature, her conscious effort has inspired people worldwide to take action.
Her many contributions include illustrations for book covers, cd covers, and book illustrations.
Her creative endeavors and philanthropic spirit always includes helping our entire planet through community work and charity pledges, which inspire others to utilize cause-related marketing. One such pledge is to give 10% of her net profits to different charities monthly, through her business ventures. Maryam has been interviewed by countless TV stations and on radio talk shows.
Although she is Persian in origin, this inspiring woman has traveled the world extensively, which includes travels through Europe, Australia, and the Middle East. This life experience has enhanced her love for all living beings, allowing her a grander and greater vision of ways to enhance our people, animals and planet Earth.
She currently resides with her husband, and a host of pets, in Southern California. More info about the magazine at http://theedenmagazine.com/
