On Monday, October 5th, renowned fashion designer Sue Wong opened Art Hearts Fashion for LA Fashion Week with her breathtaking and spectacular Alchemy & Masquerade themed Spring 2016 Collection. Sue’s design mantra of Beauty, Magic, Transformation was in full force at this wondrous show.
Her epic 79 piece collection complete with whimsical headdresses created by Maritzia Regalado of Atzi Designs, Betty Long of What a Betty, Marika Soderlund-Robinson of Kicka Custom Design and Rocky Gathercole dazzed this well heeled crowd of celebs and fashionistas! And the Tagylan Complex in the heart of Hollywood set the perfect tone for the event, with its regal chandeliers and fancy decor along with a compelling performance from the “Phantom of the Opera” by talented musician Michael Peer, which brought a real air of drama. Celebrity models included Katie Cleary and Blanca Blanco.
There was rain on the red carpet, but the show went on and it added to the energy of the evening and worked well with the theme of the show. This sold out show was standing room only and as always, is the hottest ticket in town and THE can’t miss show of the season.
“I always design with specific intention to liberate and to awaken the Feminine Divine Goddess in each and every woman. Every Sue Wong gown is a sculptural statement of this evolutionary, trans formative dance between Alchemy and Masquerade, a symphony of dark drama and transcending light,” said Wong. Indeed! The beautiful gowns and headresses made for a really striking and exciting runway!
The California State Assembly presented Sue with a well deseserved special recognition award in honor of her excellence in Fashion and the world of Design and extending her vision as lifestyle empowerment and awareness across the world. His and Her Royal Highnesses Prince Waldemar and Princess Dr. Antonia Schaumburg-Lippe presented Sue with a special Lifetime Achievement Award as well.
“I’m getting so many awards lately, you’d think my career is winding down, but I’m happy to announce it’s just revving up,” Sue declared. And indeed it is! This was my favorite Sue Wong show to date. The gowns, styles and color schemes were bold and brilliant. She still utiizes beading and lace and is loyal to bringing out the essence of the golden era of Hollywood, but her designs this season were really revved up and very vavoom! Muy caliente Sue Wong! I can’t believe it, but you’ve outdone yourself!
