Taking a bite out of the Sharknado 3 Syfy Party

Much fun was had at the Sharknado 3/Syfy Party at super swanky Hotel Solamar during Comic Con. Ran into a few friends and made some new ones. Everything was of course, shark-themed, even down to the “Singnado” karaoke room. The highlight of the evening was running into the acclaimed Oscar-nominated and Emmy-winning actress Shohreh Aghdashloo, who is one of the stars of the hot new Syfy show, The Expanse. She is also a relative and is the first woman to be featured on www.Ghaffaris.com, our family geneology site. It’s been a pleasure to interview her over the years and I’d love to have the honor of working with her one day. Hint, hint, nudge, nudge, universe…are ya listening?

Getting a smile out of writer/director of  the Sharknado franchise, Anthony C. Ferrante with my funny face and entertainment attorney Nadia Davari

I got the chance to briefly speak to Anthony C. Ferrante, the writer-director of the popular Sharknado franchise about the amazing success he’s had with it. “My co-writer and I, always loved the title (and premise), so we initially pitched it to all the networks. When it didn’t work out, we decided to turn it into a film,” said Ferrante. And the rest is history they say.
