On Thursday, May 21st, fashion and costume designer extraordinaire Julia Clancey held a pre-launch party for Across Time I Cry, a film she produced, co-wrote and was the costume designer for. This swanky event was held at the Tropicana Bar of the Roosevelt Hotel in the heart of Hollywood.
“This is a black and white film and it was shot entirely in LA. It all came about in a roundabout way. We filmed for 7 days and collected some incredibly talented, beautiful and captivating women along the way…actresses, opera singers, ballerinas and LA belles,” said Julia.
This talented designer has a very interesting background. Hailing from England, she’s a self taught designer who got her start as a fashion stylist working in both the music and advertising industries. Her beautiful creations are ethereal and Erté inspired.
Julia would create pieces while styling and her first piece of body jewelry was shot by Corinne Day for UK Vogue. In 2010, Julia launched her private showroom in West Hollywood catering to her loyal following of private clients and red carpet clientele. Her unique pieces are all hand embriodered onto silks using Swarovski pearls and crystals. More info about Julia and her exquisite designs at www.juliaclancey.com
