I checked out the Gilt City Wearhouse Sale right when it opened at Siren Studios in Hollywood and boy am I glad I did. While I swooned over Valentino, Reem Acra, and other haute couture designers, I was all about the bargains. I picked up a great jacket for $15 (!) and a nice Sam Edelman coat for a song.
I spied some great stuff there. Couture hounds beware! Reem Acra gowns that are worn by A listers at the Oscar. A box shaped jewelry encrusted Judith Leiber clutch and some other great bags. Other coveted designer brands featured at the event were Zac Posen, Helmut Lang, Missoni, Vera Wang, Oscar de la Renta, Badgley Mischka, Carolina Herrera and more. This roving reporter also spied Marchesa couture gowns in the $150 price range. I also liked the statement necklaces and wallets they had in stock. They even had a kids section and a menswear section.
Shoppers at this incredible event can also enjoy complimentary on-site makeup applications and beauty tips to combat allergy face, the beauty challenges associated with allergies, such as watery eyes, a red nose and puffiness. Just in time for spring, as Gilt City is teaming up with the makers of Zyrtec, who is an event sponsor. Acclaimed makeup artist Jamie Greenberg was so knowledgeable. She’s currently collaborating with Zyrtec as their celebrity makeup artist. “I’m enjoying collaborating with Zyrtec to create solutions to combat allergy face,” said Greenberg.
Complimentary drinks are being served including Palm Breeze sparkling spritzes, La Marca Prosecco, Darkhorse wines, Icelandic Glacial water, and snacks from Popchips.
Sale ends today at 5pm, so there’s still a bit of time to head over and check it out. The shoes were amazing, especially the boots. Still sad over the black Giuseppe Zanotti stiletto booties that were a bit too snug, but there’s always next year!
